Of everything I’d learned and read this was ultimately just about the most disturbing. Some significant research later and I discover that there is a very simple protocol that you can follow to attempt to purge the liver of any of these deposits whilst at the same time emptying the system of perhaps stale bile from the gallbladder and any stones that might form there.

I’ll not bother to go into the protocol in any detail as a quick google will tell you everything your need to know. In essence. A brief fast, a dose of Epsom salts. An emulsion of olive oil/citrus juice to stimulate the billiary system and that’s it. Fatty deposits expelled from the liver, the gall bladder emptied of excess bile and if you have any gallstones… off they go too.

Taking the epsom salts wasn’t too bad, the olive oil went down easily and then.. four hours later in bed… the worlds worst acid reflux. Then appalling nausea. Then… in the morning… more epsom salts to flush out whatever was set free by the oil cocktail.

Off to the loo… and the first results.

Astonished by what I found.. and accompanied by a tearful emotional release!

Then more epsom salts and back to bed for another hour.

And then more and more

and more

Non stop squitters brought on by the diarrhoea inducing epsom salts doses that ensure whatever deposits are formed/dragged out by the oil cocktail get flushed out over the next 5 hours.

then. I’m done.

It was literally and figuratively draining. the array of Cholesterol stones, a couple of big looking gallstones and a smattering of the moondust pieces I’d previously seen and very obvious emerald green bile stones too.

Remarkable.

Schoolboy curiosity even had me cracking one open!

After effects? None. It took about 12 hours after the last epsom salts dose I had to return to normal. It has an amazing purgative effect so I was drinking plenty of liquids to keep myself hydrated.

The only thing that I’d say was immediately noticeable to me was a ‘surge’ in colours – everything seemed much more vivid in the morning.

Update 14th December. Another strange phenomena…I’d also had a large lump on the back of my hand, something bound on to the tendon that had grown over a relatively short period of time to at least peanut size dimensions. That has now vanished. Strange!

A month in and the plaque is finished. This is a good thing.

Changes?

Markedly increased energy levels

Understanding the vivid consequences on my digestion of what I eat has meant that I’ve subtly changed what it is that I eat.

Al BMs now look different! Longer, leaner, thinner

Still some lingering negative effects. Most recent being an outbreak of teen style zits. Also largely unseen for a good 20 years.. and lending more credence to the healing crisis theory.

Noticeable change in abdomen shape with the most bizarre consequence… my bladder capacity appears to have increased?! I can only assume that the space being taken up by the stash of mucoid plaque in my intestine/colon has yielded, allowed whatever capacity I had to expand a little.

My Partner. A whole ‘nother story.

Prodigious non-stop quantities of plaque.

Quite a few differences from what I was producing. Longer. Fatter. Harder. More leathery. Altogether even more gross than mine.

No photos. Yet.

Sitting inside the liver the internal  ducts that carry away the toxins that the liver flushes out by processing hundreds of litres of blood a day sometimes forms small ‘stones’ of cholesterol.

Just when I thought it was safe to look back in the water!

Something remarkable… a peppering, quite literally, of lots of white/yellow floating calcified looking particles. Some as tiny as cracked pepper, the largest like a currant.

All floating. Hard as cartilage and perhaps 15-20 large/distinct pieces with dozens more little particles around.

I have a picture of the largest of these spectacular objects. This fella was probably 4mm x 3mm x 2mm

What are they? I have no idea. But, I think I’m past caring. Considered opinion between myself and my partner comes up with a number of hypotheses.

• Calcified something-or-other
• Undigested/Petrified Dairy products
• Candle Wax (!)
• Mummified Chicken
• Moon-dust
• Gallstones

I genuinely have no idea. But here’s a clue. The surrounding water had the most feint look of an oil slick about it. Under what circumstances the body either stops absorbing fats or (perhaps in this case) starts to expel unprocessed cobs of it? I’m not sure. What I am sure of is that a new chapter in the de-tox is under way.

So, a romantic yet cryptically short text message arrived yesterday morning to announce the birth of… some plaque!

Arriving home and the chatter inevitably makes it way around to plaque production. Charming! But I’m no longer flying solo on this.

Flying solo isn’t such a bad thing though when I was given a taste of my own medicine this morning. I had to confront down a whopping 30cm piece of fat seaweedy plaque. Larger than mine but sharing many of the same characteristics. And this just 5 days after starting with nothing more than a couple of healthy doeses of Psyllium twice a day. I am in awe.

Ill effects? None. Result.

Which is a good thing as the only other result I had was a place on a 9/4 e/w bet. CACK!

And something else has put in an appearance… not seen for 25 years… athletes foot! A minor outbreak but not something I’ve had a problem with since my late teens. I take solace in the fact that this is either a wild coincidence or an indication that that perhaps the detox regime and elimination of the plaque is working as it’s supposed to.

Bit of a juxtaposition as I’d say my general energy levels are up somewhat, whilst wellbeing is probably down.  The mental ‘what if’ game of thinking about the consequences of not eliminating the mucoid plaque takes a bit of a heavy toll. A consequence that I’d not previously considered.

…the most plaque laden bowl full ever. 3x long, thin and distinctly flat plaque segments. Each about 15cm-18cm. When I say flat, looked like they’d been rolled out with a rolling pin. Decidedly obscure. And, unique this time where a number of thin tubular branch like pieces. Jet black and shiny like a squid ink linguine, not toxic smelling, just smelling of fresh liver.

Squid ink linguine? Pate de Foie? Strangely, I never felt less like eating.

Go figure.

An unusual travel day yesterday, no real time to eat or act properly.

• Brekkie. 4 eggs, Scrambled. Smoked Salmon. Coffee.
• Lunch. Soup made with Squash, Smoked bacon and assorted winter veggies. Glass of Beer!
• Snack. A massive Doyene du Comice pear.
• Supper. Two fruit smoothies from Marks and Spencer whilst driving up the M1 at 9:30 at night in the fog.

It’s not great I know so I wasn’t expected what happened next to happen…

Bed at 22:30, Up at 05:30. Tons of energy. The unmistakable lower belly twinge that something was afoot.

Another bog blasting mega evacuation. Nothing discernable/tangible… just a further gigantic clearout. My third such in a fortnight now. Experience teaches me that this will precede something ‘unusual’.  Bring it on.

I hope not because this has got to be hard to top. This morning, along with a normal healthy stool and a smattering of tiny hazlenut ovine poops…

“Chicken Livers”

Not from a chicken you undertstand, nor apparently made of liver. We’re venturing into spectacular new territory here now. Soft, flappy, shiny fresh looking plaque lobes with a thin inner of Psyllium. Just enough rigidity to be held up like a piece of seaweed.

It’s hard not to make the correlation between the odd looking/feeling/smelling expulsions and my state of general health across the board. It does appear that each major occurence is preceded/accompanied by a shift in my feeling of wellbeing. It’s probably too early to tell but I am conscious of a slight general uplift in things. Time will tell.

And Lots of it. I’d say the above comprised a good 65.4% of my output! Umm, approximately.

No pics today… as I’m starting to tire of that whole rigmarole and today was nothing particularly new. Talking of which, my enthusiasm for the whole thing was reigned in marginally when I received a domestic RED CARD and was sin-binned for poop talk.

Bad dog, no biscuit.

The bad news. Ovine poops.

a. pertaining to or like sheep; n. such animal. oviform, a. sheep- or egg-like.

Not exclusively, but distributed through a normal stool, clusters of solo, very hard/dense hazlenut size pieces of impacted poop. Not the plaque like rubbery stuff I’ve seen this was clearly hard clay like poop. A dozen pellets. Very disturbing.

A search online and this very much resembles the impacted faecal mater that people commonly have if they develop diverticles in their colon.

Most definitely Better out than in!

No Breakfast. Soup or salad for lunch. A light meal for supper, typically steamed fish and vegetables. No refined carbs. The fibre is taken with a glass of water and washed down with a second glass of fruit juice. Probably taking the fibre drink 4 or 5 times through the day. Very simple and apparently effective…

Today we have, in one movement. Two normal looking stools and one bundle-o-plaque

Unravelled the plaque is a return to the classic mucoid string first seen a few days ago. Hard, Rubbery and very distinct from the normal stool. It’s comforting to imagine that this stuff is being pushed along through my system and is set free! I’m much happier that it’s leaving me.

This is an extract from something I found on-line whilst doing a little homework – accurately reflects my observations

In most persons, mucoid plaque is about 1/64 to 1/4 of an inch thick, but occasionally may be more than 1 inch thick. It is sometimes stiff and hard, but usually is soft and flexible to the touch. It may also be in a more liquid state due to the action of the herbs, seeming gooey and mucus-like. Generally it holds together quite well. In colour, it can be any of several colours, including: white, yellow, gray, greenish, tan, light brown, dark brown, black, and often is blackish green. It is not uncommon for than 2 to 4 feet long, but the average is 6-18 inches.

Some persons have asked, “How do I know I’m not just eliminating the shake substance?”

The shake substance, after passing through the body is never shiny, or smooth. It never has evenly, spaced lumps, creases, overlaps, or striations.

The mucoid plaque is usually, but not always, somewhat shiny. Often it looks like thin or thick pieces of leather or rubber. Or, it may be in globs, or hard pieces, large or small. Some pieces may look like rope. It may show striations, smoothness, overlaps, or creases if it comes out in large enough pieces to see them. And it does not immediately fall apart in water like the shake substance does.

When a large piece of plaque comes from the upper intestines, it normally shows definite striations. Plaque from the lower ileum is smooth and usually shiny with no bumps, striations or curvy shapes. Plaque from the colon has characteristic bumpy shapes and overlaps caused by the accordion like haustrations in the colon.

Another way to identify mucoid plaque is to cut the eliminated material apart. It can usually be broken and examined. If you have eliminated a complete section, you may see a definite mass inside (Psyllium) that is different colour or texture. Then you know for sure that you have removed a mucoid layer. The shake substance inside always looks different from the plaque, although if you are still eating some food on the cleanse or have taken a dark-coloured juice, the colour of the shake substance may be dark like the plaque. But the texture will still be very different. Pieces of plaque may also come out without the shake substance.

Alongside the normal giant fluffy morning stool… a whole host of fragmented  dried prune like plaque. Much like yesterday… only lots of it.

I’d say that as the normal digestive action of passing food through the body is now accompanied by lots of added fibre from the psyllium . I can only guess that the psyllium is binding to the plaque, either pulling it away from lining the intestine/colon or pulling small pieces from the natural contours of the gut where it’s stuck/imapcted.

The conjecture that the plaque is formed by the supplements seems to me to be clearly false. I’m not taking bentonite as in the commercial preparations,  just the fibre and that is clearly distinguishable on examination.

The whole thing is creeping me out immensely but I’m absolutely convinced it’s the right thing to do and to press on.

Morbid details? I weighed that lot.. an amazing 75g and if laid end-to-end 45cm.

My chopstick skills are adept but next time I eat some sushi/sashimi or a bowl of ramen it’s going to be a BIG CHALLENGE!

Handful of plaque pieces this morning, disturbingly one very old, very hard and distinctly dark and rubbery piece arrived. Just like a dried prune!

It withstood some significant chopstick prodding and I suspect would probably slice with a knife. Difficult to describe the texture really but something akin to a mature English Cheddar cheese.

I’m not adding bentonite to the shakes.. I figure whatever comes out is getting loosened and dragged along by the fibre. This disturbing little chunk today is a little worrying as my gut feel (geddit!) is that this is a fragment of something else to come.

A single, brief, recurrence of the headache I’d felt a few days ago. Two headaches in one week is unheard of for me. Coincidence? Probably not.

Also, I’ve got aching hips. That’s a first.

No photo to back this one up as we were entertaining and it’d be difficult to run hollerin’ through the house with the findings but for the first time a deep set Urgent Urge of the Unstoppable kind is upon me. Leggit to the loo and then… an unleashing of biblical proportions.

For the first time, this expulsion is predominantly plaque looking. Nothing much in there that you’d recognise as a normal bowel movement and the single biggest piece of plaque is like a squashed satsuma! I can’t ponder too much and much as I’d like to prod at it, dissect it and stare in wonderment all I can really do is send it on its way.

In four days now I’ve ‘lost’ a couple of inches off my waistline – down two notches on the belt. Weight loss wasn’t really something I was too concerned about… but a matter of fact ‘side-effect’ of these continued expulsions is a lessening of abdominal girth!

Sadly I am now operating under a yellow card caution for any mucoid plaque talk. Anything gastrointestinal doesn’t get my partner off to a good start so discretion is the better part of valour. Waving around a plastic tray of glutinous, globular gut goo that I’ve fetched out of the loo will earn me a red card for sure!

So, nothing for it. I must fly under the radar and chopstick this mornings contribution out of the pan in silence! Hard to conatin my glee though as for the third day running another piece of plaque sees the light of day for the first time.

Time to assume the position. And calm, like a Zen master… I let go.

Oh. My. God.

Unusual, continuous, bowel movement. Not bad you understand, just different. Very, very, different

Not like the trots. Conversely, no straining… it just happened

No, this was more like the unstoppable, powerful flow of a river. Slow moving, sure and just… WOW. 30 seconds later. Half a ton of the worst smelling, foul hell-odour rising into the air and a giant volume of poop is left in the bowl. I sit on the throne for a brief moment and it’s clear, nothing else is happening. Show over.

If only this were smelly vision. You would not believe how bad this is. Putrefaction personified. I can spot expelled mucoid plaque in there but what leaps out is that this is without doubt the largest volume of poop that I have ever let go in a single sitting in my life.

So, my guess is that this volume is predominantly the psyllium supplement at work because he bulk of this was foamy/fluffy giant poops. This blog is however about mucoid plaque and here’s what Mr. Chopstick fished out.

Whilst it’s not unknown it’s certainly rare for me. In prep for a bit of a detox I thought I’d try and curtail my coffee consumption. I know that caffeine withdrawal brings on headaches so it could be that.

A quick google around and the possibility that the release of this plaque is also a trigger for letting go of some accumulated toxins. Well.. Better out than in.

The commercial detox regimes all include Bentonite clay as a toxin absorber. We have plenty on hand so I’ll have a think about concocting a portion shortly and maybe have a go at adding this to the fibre.

I see in colon cleansing/detox parlance this mixture of psyllium and bentonite referred to as a P+B shake. Excellent!
